In order to show that I am an equal opportunity gamer, I've decided to include trophies on this blog. Even though it is called "Marc's Achievements", I feel that trophies have the same spirit as achievements. Therefore they are now part of this site. I don't play Playstation games nearly as much as Xbox ones, but there are a few that are worth trying. Lately I've gotten back into playing the Infamous series. I finished the first one months ago. I was going to try and finish it up but after getting trophy I decided against it. There are just so many other games out there that I want to play that it's just not worth spending too much time worrying about completions when I should be playing other games sitting on the shelf.
Hotfoot - Bronze - Travel 25 kilometers while riding the rails
So I started Infamous 2 (yeah I know, really original idea). Great game so far, keeps the spirit of the original while adding in new elements.
Watch That First Step - Bronze - Defeat an enemy by destroying the object they stand on
Don't Fence Me In - Bronze - Climb a chain link fence and rejoice
I wish they had more variety in their trophy tiles but hey, you can't have everything.

Saints Row the Third : COMPLETED
It's anniversary time. 25th completed game!!! It's not a particularly high number but for someone in my position who doesn't have all that much time for gaming its a big deal. This game in particular has been a long time coming. Judging from my save files it's been about 2 and a half years since I've played Saints Row 3. And there wasn't even all that much left. The DLC in this game is really short. Like an hour each. After spending maybe about an hour and a half I finished it off. They consisted of many small, shitty score cheevos. Oh well, still counts. Happy 25th game completion to me!!!

TV Reviews #2 - Deadwood Season 1 (2004)
A show set in the old west is definitely a concept
that can go far. It’s probably been decades since a show has had this setting.
This series is about the town of Deadwood, a place where there is no law and
almost anything goes. As such, there are great opportunities and great danger. The
show has a varying range of characters, from a former sheriff to a brothel
owner to a window running a gold claim. Each character brings their own
perspective to the town in question.
Some
of the characters, like Al Swearengen (played by Ian McShane) are so interesting
and deep. It is difficult to establish heroes or villains in this show as
everyone that we get to spend time with we end up sympathising with to some
degree. Most of the characters have good development which helps making the
show more relatable. The problem though lies with the story and pacing. It
feels very slow and without much development. There is not much change to the
status quo and even when a big event happens, the overall coming and goings of
the show do not alter much.
Deadwood
has a great production value. The sets look just like I would imagine the old
west to be. Everything has a feel of dirt and grime over it. It always feels
like its nasty and that the smell is just awful. Even when there’s nudity it’s
not even sexy, it’s just too gross in this town for that to turn anyone on.
Season
1 isn’t bad at all. The characters are interesting, the setting is spot on and
you fully fell like you’re in the old west. The pacing and story progressing
though just don’t move fast enough for me and given the extremely high quality
of television we’ve been blessed with in the last decade or so I have to say
Deadwood would not figure in the top ones.
Score: 6.5 / 10

July 2014 Review Schedule
Another month bring another batch of reviews. I've been having a hard time finishing all the Hellraiser movies. Time constraints have prevented me from seeing them all. Even so, it doesn't mean they won't get done, it's just going to be delayed a little. Because of the delays in finishing the Hellraiser reviews, I'm setting up a new rule. Instead of having to go in order, the review simply mean that the review can be posted at any point on or after that date. It will keep from having reviews pile up so that at least some of these can get done. Of course, I won't be reviewing part 4 of a series before part 2.
June 22 : Hellraiser : Hellworld
June 29 : Hellraiser : Revelations
July 6 : Deadwood Season 1

Zombies everywhere
Dead Rising 3, still not quite decided on it. For one, it is fun. The timer is sadly still present but you have considerably more time and the timer is much slower. But it is still there, and there should never be a timer in an open world game. It makes no sense. You create this living world and all kinds of things for players to do and missions to play and you put a stupid arbitrary limit to ruin it. I don't get it. The verdict is still out here. In the meantime, I got a few easy achievements.
