Why do I suddenly love Gears of War?

Have been a little slow lately. I've been obsessed with continuing the achievements streak that i've only been getting one per day so that I have enough easy ones for the next day. Once I beat Ultamisia's streak I'll put an end to it. For now let's see these various Gears and Motocross cheevos.

As of today I am on a 10 day achievement streak. It's impressive how quickly that can happen. I was just playing Guacamelee for a while and bam, I seem to be on a streak. Although I've only been doing very few cheevos, the streak keeps going and let's hope I can beat my current record of 16 days.

I'm not proud of it but I did it. I picked up Superman Returns for 5$. It's pure achievement whoring. There will be nothing good gained from it other then that. I will lose respect from friends and family and more importantly respect for myself. But I can't help it, cheevos need to be gained. If I had enough time and money I'd try to get every single achievement. At least I am redeeming myself a bit by still playing Guacamelee and Gears of War Judgement, so I'm somewhat respectable? No, on second though I'm just a dirty gamerscore whore.

Holy Moley, this is fun!!!

I didn't expect this but Guacamelee is actually addictive. I find myself playing this every chance I get and looking for every secret in the game. The game mechanics are tight. It's platforming that challenges you but never gets so hard that it frustrates you into quitting. There are plenty of interesting characters and the references to other games are quite fun. This game will probably be done before I know it so I might as well enjoy it while it lasts. Oh yeah and I also started Gears of War Judgement.

WWE Releases Alberto Del Rio

In order to commemorate the release of former WWE champion Alberto Del Rio, I've started playing Guacamelee. It seemed interesting when I heard that it was Metroid/Vania style game. That sounded like an interesting concept and it was a free games with gold so why not give it a try. So far so good, we'll see how interesting it stays once it gets harder. There was also a bit of Crimson Dragon thrown in there.

RIP Robin Williams

We here at Marc's (actually it's just me) like to occasionally comment on current events. So it's with a heavy heart that I have to talk about the death of Robin Williams. Despite being occasionally hokey, Robin Williams was a hilarious comedian. If you watched any of his stand up you would see just how funny he was. Despite whatever details of his death surface in the future, let's all remember the good times we had watching him entertain us.

In less serious news, I've gathered a few easy Crimson Dragon achievements. Nothing to brag about but it brings up my numbers.

Focused Willpower - 40G - Killed 200 enemies using only your dragon's secondary skill

TV Reviews #3 - Deadwood Season 2 (2005)

            Season 1 of Deadwood trudged along. It wasn’t great but it was ok, you could keep watching and it neither made you all that excited to watch nor angry. Season 2 however starts a new trend that ruins almost everything that follows. For some reason the characters begin speaking in this strange indirect manner. No one will say I or you, they’ll start saying things like “should the lady wish to speak, then I in consort may pass her message” and blah blah blah. It is ridiculously infuriating. It’s a pet peeve of mine when characters don’t speak like normal people, it takes me completely out of the show. Luckily they slowed it down considerably by the end of the season but good god was it tough to make it there.

            Other than the annoying speaking style, this season also is not that interesting. Gone is the cool killing of mofo’s and badassness in the camp. Now the show is about building a school, setting up a bank and boring me. Again, things pick up a bit at the end but it doesn’t make up for all the rest. The new villain for the season, Mr. Wolcott, is a real weirdo. You definitely don’t like the guy, he does some pretty terrible things and he has an angering way about him. But he’s just not quite strong enough the support the whole season.

            I struggle to write more but there just isn’t all that much to say. It is an uninteresting season, which kind of puts into perspective why the series was eventually cancelled.

Sort of dropping the ball of this. It's just hard to figure out what to write. I'm not that creative of a writer. I've made myself a challenge to force a catch up. Until I'm up to date on reviews, I cannot eat have any goodies (chips, pizza,etc), basically bad food, until they are done. That should give the right motivation. 10 reviews to do, can I make it?

Infamous Dragons

Hey kiddos, back for another blog edition. There hasn't been all that much gaming going on lately. Did pass 75000 gamerscore, so that's one thing to note. But until 100 000, there isn't much to celebrate. In this edition, there's only been 2 games played. Progressed a little bit in Infamous 2 and started out Crimson Dragon. Infamous 2 is still really solid whereas Crimson Dragon, well lets just say it's a good thing it was free. Only 7 achievements/trophies to brag about this time.
