Plot: (from imdb.com) A snobbish investor and a wily
street con artist find their positions reversed as part of a bet by two callous
millionaires.
Review: What’s been great about doing these reviews is
that they give me an excuse to go back and watch movies that I had never seen
back in the day. Trading Places is a movie I had only discovered in the past
few years and I finally took the time to watch it. The concept of people
switching place was something that seemed to happen often in 80s movies.
Sometimes they just changed roles, sometimes magic switched their bodies but
they’re similar type movies. As the plot description states, a bet is the
reason for the switch in this movie.
Aykroyd
and Murphy are great as the two leads. They have good chemistry together and
their individual scenes work well also. However the standout here is Jamie Lee
Curtis. This is going to sound shallow, but wow, her boobs are amazing in this
movie! I did not see that coming. Time to snap out of that. The movie is funny
too but not overly laugh out loud. It’s got a great 80s feel to it and I’d
recommend everyone to check it out just to see those old computer that were
once hi-tech.
Score: 7/10
