Dan Brown is a divisive author. Many like his books as is
obvious from the huge sales figures. However many others think the books are
stupid and not intelligent at all. In my experience the books have been fun and
captivating. They are able to keep your attention and the short chapters keep
you wanting to continue. Digital Fortress deals with the digital age and the
way the government tries to protect itself from the new threats. It is slightly
ahead of its time (it was written in 1998) and deals with issues that are still
present today. It is best not to reveal too much about the story. Describing it
would make it sound duller then it actually is and would not serve it justice.
It is a good read and definitely worth your time. Don’t let the book snobs dissuade
you; Dan Brown is an author worth trying out. Make your own decision
afterwards.
