Mines can fly?

As I continue my trek through Dark Void, I find myself in two different places. Most of the time, I am having a good time. Nothing out of this world, but not bad enough that I feel like i'm wasting my time. Then there are the frustrating momments. Like when you're trying to blow up a battleship and stupid flying mines come after you and ruin your day. What's the deal with that? I hate homing things in games, they are just frustrating. Just a rough patch I guess. Will have to get through it to continue on the fun bits.

A nice little achievement that caught me by surprise.

I seem to remember Rochambeau being a game of guys kicking each other in the nuts and the first to give up loses. Was South Park right?




Pack Rat - 30G - Acquire 30,000 Tech Points
It takes a while at first but once you start flying a lot you get points left and right.




Light Up the Sky - 30G - Destroy 25 targets with the Ark's AA guns
The AA gun kicks ass!!!



I'm a Rocketman, Baby - 15G - Perform 100 special maneuvers with the rocket pack
It's about time, did so many of those air flips.

Into the Void

After much time and delays, I finished Prince of Persia. It was a fun game with an unusual ending that kind of worked for me. Don't worry, I won't spoil it. Just go and play it, it's dirt cheap right now.

Now that I have some time, I started up Dark Void. I kept hearing negative things about it, but to tell you the truth, I'm actually having a lot of fun with it. The shooting is nothing revolutionary, but vertical cover is an interesting new idea and the jet pack is fun to use also. Another small game I may have never played if I didn't have the gameaccess rental service.

When you get to the last area, this unlocks.



From Darkness...Light! - 30G - Congratulations, you have reimprisoned Ahriman
You get this for beating the last boss but don't worry, you'll get more of these.

Speed Demon - 10G - Congratulations, you finished the game in under 12 hours
Really, cause I took my time

To be continued... - 80G - Congratulations, the game is complete..the story has only just begun
This is for actually finishing the game. I won't ruin it, but lets just say it's probably not all over.

Be gentle with her - 100G - Congratulations, you have been kind to Elika
Now don't think I'm this amazing gamer. I read that with the latest update, everyone gets this for finishing the game. Elika definitely saved me more then 100 times. It's kind of a shame, it cheapens it for those who actually worked hard to get it and I feel guilty for getting an achievement I don't deserve.

Killing Spree - 20G - Kill 10 enemies within 60 seconds
Very easy! There's a part with a mounted machine gun and there's a hole where guys keep coming out of. Fire away!

Tesla's Apprentice - 15G - Upgrade first weapon
Like every game now, you apparently need some kind of RPG element in it. In this one, you can upgrade your weapons.

Big Bang - 30G - Destroy a Knight using a grenade
These knights are big muthas that fly around and shoot blue lasers at you. Hurt him a bit then finish him off with the grenade.

Blue Light Special - 15G - Kill 3 enemies with one grenade
I did this multiple times and finally after a while it worked.

Cliffhanger Killer - 15G - Kill 50 enemies while in vertical cover
Vertical is one of the original things in this game, and I for one thinks it works well.

Forgot My Tow Cable - 15G - Fly through an Archon's legs
A nice nod to empire strikes back.

How dare you kiss me! - 15G - Use your whip to kiss Marion, Willie and Elsa.
No joke, you need to get the PERFECT angle to pull this off. With some patience and the help of a friend you can pull this off.

Addicted to da row!

I forgot how great Saints Row 2 is. Better in almost every way to GTA 4 (yes, i'm saying it!). The controls are easier, the driving is MUCH better and the activities are so much funner! Not to say that GTA 4 is bad, it's just that Saint's Row 2 is better. I rediscovered it with a friend the other day and is a great. We were going to do all the activities in co-op but then realized that we had already started it so we didn't know what was done and what wasn't. So we'll probably start a new game just for activities so not to get confused. In the meantime we tried some multiplayer and got a few of those achievements.

We also braved through some spec ops in Modern Warfare 2. I'm getting to the later ones and they are proving to be a bitch and a half. I'm going through it slowly so that I don't get too frustrated. If I can get 3 stars in one mission per gaming session, i'll be happy.

At first I thought you just had to play a match, not necessarily win it.

Strong Armed - 10G - Completed the Strong Arm tutorial
I can't believe I didn't do this sooner. You just watch a video then open some text and voila!

Turn on friendly fire, kill your co-op buddy then you can start a diversion mini game. Win it to get this, then be a good friend and return the favor.

Professional - 30G - Earn all 3 stars in at least 15 different Special Op missions
I'm getting close to all 69 stars!

Xbox 360, I missed you :(

Oh man, does it feel good to play games again! After a lengthy absence, I finally got to play and picked up a few achievements. Now that I have like 5 games waiting to be played, I can say for certain that I don't need to buy any more for a while. I'm nearing the end of Prince of Persia, so next I'll see if Alone in the Dark is as dreadful as everyone tells me it is.















Deflect Master - 20G - Congratulations, you have mastered the art of Deflecting
From what I understand, deflecting is when you block an enemies attack at the last possible second. I think....


Hunter Special - 20G - Congratulations, you can deflect the Hunter's attacks
I guess this proves my theory.


Throw Master - 10G - Congratulations, you have mastered throwing enemies
Got to throw 10 of Ahriman's Jerk Squad into a pit of dooooooooom


Now who's the Hunter? - 20G - Congratulations, you have killed the Hunter
The Hunter can explode in a pretty epic fashion. Kaboom!


Saviour of the City of Light - 50G - Congratulations, the world has been healed
I healed all the light seed spots. Now the world is pretty.


Light Seeds Gatherer - 10G - Congratulations, you have collected 700 Light Seeds
I will get all the Light Seeds, I MUST!!!

Do Mafia Wars achievements count?

Of course they don't, but they do have similar to Xbox 360 achievements. They are starting to get achievements that are no longer unlockable and there also some that are just impossible (999 trillion dollars? Ridiculous!!)

Anyway, off to the important stuff. I continued my quest to complete Prince of Persia. I now have all the powers so I can go anywhere and get all the Light Seeds. It should be fun (and occasionnally frustrating) to collect all of these. I also played some more Left 4 Dead 2, only have one campaign left to do.
















CRASS MENAGERIE - 20G - Kill one of each Uncommon Infected
In the game there are 4 non boss zombies that are different. I think one of them is the SWAT, Biohazard, Clown and Mudman. I ended by killing a mudman.



HEAD HONCHO - 15G - Decapitate 200 Infected with a melee weapon
Aim for the head and chop away.




CHAIN OF COMMAND - 15G - Kill 100 Common Infected with the chainsaw
The only drawback is that the chainsaw uses gas, so it's limited



ARMORY OF ONE - 15G -Deploy an ammo upgrade and have your team use it

RAGIN' CAJUN - 20G - Survive the Swamp Fever campaign
I love the posters for each campaign, they're so awesome! The only cure is death!

Dodge the Warriors attacks 20 times in one fight. He's slow to it won't be too bad.


Death of a Warrior King - 20G - Congratulations, you have killed the Warrior
The Warrior is the easiest of the 4 bosses, you just have to keep pushing him into pits.

Light Seeds Locator - 10G - Congratulations, you have collected 400 Light Seeds
400 down, 600 to go!

Light Seeds Harvester - 10G - Congratulations, you have collected 500 Light Seeds
I'm halfway there!

Climbing to New Heights! - 10G - Congratulations, you have found the highest place in the world
The Alchemists final level is the higheset place in the world, so if you play the whole game you can't miss it.

Traitor' End - 20G - Congratulations, you have killed the Alchemist
