Juicy brains

Games with gold let you try out stuff you probably never would otherwise. Given Sniper Elite V2 was free I tried it out. Can`t it`s that good. Graphics are pretty bad, like 2005 PS2 quality. The game is a little janky and controls are a little weird. But knowing how I am, i`m going to end up finishing it, I just know it. I`m a sucker for this kind of shit. Should be playing better stuff....

The Walking Dead: Season Two : COMPLETED

That's 2 completions in a month, woopdy doo!!! I'm proud to induct the 27th entry into this completion library. The story stayed just as good for the second season, with many great and saddening moments. I'm really looking forward to season 3, I may even need to pick it up episodically once it comes out. The adventures of Clementine have me hooked.

Movie Reviews #21 - Wild (2014)

Plot: (from imdb.com) A chronicle of one woman's 1,100-mile solo hike undertaken as a way to recover from a recent catastrophe.

Review: Remember how in Clerks 2 how Randall described the Lord of the Rings movies as walking? Well Wild is that movie, but more interesting than it sounds. It’s more the story of a woman who has lost her way in life and tries to use this months long hike as a way to make it right again. Reese Witherspoon does a pretty good job and the flashbacks were great at explaining what has happened in her life. She meets many interesting people and finds out that she is stronger than she believes she is. It’s a decent movie overall, not spectacular but worth a watch.

Score: 7/10

The Dead are still walking

Now it's time to move on to The Walking Dead: Season 2. The story has been pretty good during the first season and I figured why not continue. The story grips you early on and doesn't stop. You feel a real sense of dread the whole time, like there is no hope and you are only waiting for dead to come for you.

On a brighter note though I have been playing some more Lego, this time Pirates of the Caribbean. The Lego just make me happy, so much fun and I don't care if it's supposed to be for kids, I love it. The goal is to complete 3 of them this year. The games in question are still to be determined.

Movie Reviews #20 - The Hunt for Red October (1990)

Plot: (from imdb.com) In 1984, the USSR's best submarine captain in their newest sub violates orders and heads for the USA. Is he trying to defect, or to start a war?

Review: Hunt for Red October is the first of the Jack Ryan series. It was the first book in the series as well as the first to be adapted into a movie. Author Tom Clancy is great at the war/spy sub genre (no pun intended) and the movie translates well from book to screen. The submarine action is both tense and interesting, especially to someone who know very little on the subject. Alec Baldwin does a competent job as Jack Ryan and Sean Connery is interesting as a Russian submarine commander. It’s a definite movie to see for lover of this genre but others may find the pace a little slow.
