Movie Reviews #18 - American Sniper (2014)

Plot: (from imdb.com) Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle's pinpoint accuracy saves countless lives on the battlefield and turns him into a legend. Back home to his wife and kids after four tours of duty, however, Chris finds that it is the war he can't leave behind.

Review: Bradley Cooper does a great job of portraying his character, and boy does he look huge! Overall though the movie is about how war can really mess someone up. It’s a concept that’s been done before, and better, but overall it’s a fairly good outing. Everyone does their job well but it just feels like there is a little something missing to make this movie great. The war scenes are well done but not as gripping as they could be. It’s worth checking out as it will probably win some Oscars but don’t expect too much out of it.

Score: 7/10
